This time last week I was mid-trip to Fort Worth for a super fun, uplifting trip with my mama. Well, traveling while gluten free is tricky always, I swear by using the Find me Gluten Free App anytime I do. Hands down, it’s the first thing I tell someone they need when going gluten free. The free app is good, but it’s definitely worth the premium upgrade in my opinion.
So over the trip, we stopped at a few places. First was Hat Creek Burger Co. in Dallas right near the airport. I had the nuggets and fries and 10/10.

For dinner night one, we stopped by Rio Mambo in Fort Worth. I ordered the Vallarta Del Mar which was a solid choice and something I’ve never had before. Also, we both ordered margaritas, mine a mango, and those were top notch too. Definitely worth a visit.

For lunch on day two, we were visiting The Stockyards and we stopped by Riscky’s BBQ further down the yards. So over lunch, we took in the cattle drive and enjoyed lunch over on the outdoor patio. I ordered the catfish with a baked potato and never having catfish before, it’s definitely something I’d order again.

For the conference I was in town for, I reached out to the team at Dickies Arena to ask what their GF offerings were. I added their comments in the app for future visitors, but I took full advantage of chicken tenders and fries, both in a dedicated fryer. I mean I’ve had more fries and breaded chicken across the trip at 3x total between the post-flight stop and twice at Dickies, than I’ve probably had in the past two years.

Our last true sit down meal of this year’s mother-daughter trip was Thai Orange Cuisine in Lake Worth. Another local favorite from what I could see on the app. I ordered my usual go-to of Chicken Pad Thai and it definitely hit the spot. All-in-all, it was a fantastic trip with my mama and we had great grub all around.
