I haven’t attempted a new recipe in just over a month, but today was one I’ve been pumped to try for a while!

Following a recipe from @sarahbakesgfree, I used a blend of @bobsredmill 1-to-1 GF AP flour and @krusteaz GF AP flour. For the vegan butter, I used @countrycrock avocado oil based plant butter. I ended up needing 14-16 TBSP of cold water instead of the 4-6 the recipe called for. Otherwise, everything went to plan.

I should have done a much better job sealing the edges as they leaked quite a bit. That being said, they are tasty! I would also add a little extra salt to balance out the sweet.

I popped on in the microwave for 10 seconds and BAM… you got yourself a pop tart made of ingredients you can fully pronounce. Calling it a win!

I’ll definitely be using this base again and I’m excited to make a fruit filled one. I had a plan to go fruit today so I could use the new sprinkles I bought, but in case it didn’t work, I didn’t want to waste fresh fruit or fresh jam. Next time for sure!
